Welcome to the August 2021 newsletter from Stella and Rose's Books. The aim of our newsletter is to keep you informed of new information, articles and books available on our website.
August has so far been a typical British summer month with plenty of rain - albeit warm rain! Maybe this means more time for reading? Anyhow, business at the shop has been steady with nothing very remarkable to report. Some small bits of renovation continue; hopefully to be completed in the next week or so. And then it's on to the next project. It feels like the more we do, the more we find that needs doing...
Chris has contributed an amusing article this month based on a book written several years ago by Sammy Vallhund on the unusual subject of training humans. It takes a humorous and somewhat satirical look at the bonds that form between humans and their dogs. This month's featured book focuses on the Goodwood Revival motor racing event. The book takes a deep dive into the history of Goodwood and the event; and it's not too late to book tickets for this year's event - 17-19th September 2021. We hope you enjoy the newsletter!
This month our theme is How To Train Your Human. This is taken from a book written by well-known author Sammy Vallhund to help all dogs with training their humans. Sammy is now 13 years old and this was written when he was a youngster but well-practised in all aspects of training humans and the principles still apply today.

There are probably many reasons for that, and such a discussion is well outside the scope of this article. However, it’s made me realise that I find much more enjoyment in watching and, when possible, tinkering with classic cars rather than modern.
