Almost very good condition. Numerous memorable illustrations including 13 colour plates. Contains several self-caricatures of Rackham, including him in the guise of the 'new master' who gives the black boy a 'good scrubbing', and the man who catches a flea! Available in two separate trade editions, this is the green cloth binding with gilt titles and decorations. Green/white pictorial endpapers. 223 pages. 8 x 6". Introduction by G.K. Chesterton. New translation by Jones.

Spine bumped, worn and slightly darkened. Wear to corners and bump to lower front corner. Front joint cracked. plus a couple of hinges cracked but binding still tight. Grubby fingermarks, mainly to lower margins and mostly in first half of book. A few fox spots to contents. Rear endpapers grubby with some foxing. All plates present.
