Compiled by the editor of "Little Folks". Red spine with black titles and vignette of yacht. Pictorial boards showing two people and a small dog at a station. Green pictorial endpapers. Colour and b/w illustrations. Spine bumped and faded. Cloth fraying at top and bottom, with a couple of small splits. Corners bumped and worn. Board edges scuffed. Rear board very grubby. Scratches to boards. One hinge broken - just holding by threads. Other hinges cracked. Top of prelims partially detached. Clear tape used on some hinges. Endpapers browned. Inscription in ink to verso of frontis. Some foxing and grubby marks.

A few margin marks otherwise contents generally clean.

Colour and two tone illustrations. Spine bumped and a little worn with a closed tear about half way down. Corners are bumped and very worn. Board edges are rubbed. Small patch of surface paper damage to rear board which is grubby and marked. Some scratch marks to covers. Rear joint beginning to crack. Some hinges are cracked. Light browning to endpapers. Erased pencil writing to front endpaper. Some foxing mainly to prelims and page edges. A few light marks otherwise contents are generally clean.

One of a series of four story books, each with 6 colour plates and scores of illustrations. This one has very pretty pictorial boards showing a little boy peeping from behind a tree at a little girl sitting eating an apple. Pictorial endpapers by W. Heath Robinson. Front endpaper shows characters from fairy tales, rear endpaper characters from nursery rhymes. Red cloth spine with black titles. 10x8". Spine is a little grubby. A few scuff marks to covers. Corners are bumped and worn. Foxing to outer page edges. A few closed margin tears. One hinge pulled. Five of six colour plates missing. 4 b/w illustrations have been coloured in.
