Good condition. The last hardcover annual to be published during the war years and widely considered to be the best Rupert annual ever. Front cover shows Rupert holding a paddle and waving while Algy looks on from a little boat. First story Rupert and the Red Egg. 118 pages.
Backstrip worn and grayed with loss to top and tail. '1941' written in pencil beneath title on front cover. Board edges rubbed, corners worn, boards a little grubby. Top edge of text block has pencil marks. 'Rupert Book 1941' written in ink to front pastedown. Belongs to box completed and messily crossed out with red pencil. Red pencil scribble to title page and '6d' written in ink to top front corner. Remains of a piece of paper stuck to verso of contents page. Some underlining in red pencil to contents. Lower corner loss to page 41/42 (margin only). Rear joint cracked and stairs drawn in pencil to rear pastedown. A few marks to contents but contents generally very good for this annual.
