The story of the Pytchley fox. 9.25 x 6 ins. Green cloth with cream spine. 13 full page wood engravings and 37 b/w chapter headers and footers. Spine and corners bumped; split at base of spine. Dents to board edges. A little scattered foxing but contents generally very good. Wrapper is edge creased and torn, chipped with loss, some surface damage and grubby marks to rear.

A collection of fairy-stories illustrated by 12 glorious colour plates plus b/w chapter head and tail decorations. 143 pages. Light blue cloth, silver titles. Spine and corners bumped and slightly rubbed. Foxing to endpapers and textblock. Dustwrapper has 2 large tears to front panel which have been repaired on verso with double-sided tape (although only 1 side of the tape used!), rear panel of wrapper is lightly foxed and there is some slight chipping to the spine/corners. I think the wrapper was probably in at least 2 pieces, if not 3 before the tape repairs.

Foxing to endpapers and prelims. 2nd issue dustwrapper (illus Atkinson) is price-cut and edge worn with tape repairs on verso of spine, some slight loss, browned to spine and has a small brown spot to rear panel.

Wrapper is creased and torn at edges with some loss at spine, corners and top of front panel (affecting the word 'bright' in the title).
