An unofficial record of its creation and fighting career; together with some account of the civil and military administrative conditions in East Africa before and during that period. With numerous b/w photos and a map. Red cloth baords, gilt title to spine and black vignette of African soldier. 238 pages including index.

Spine is faded and frayed at top & tail. Boards marked. Deckle edges. Name in pencil to free front endpaper. Small edge-tear to folding map. All plates present.
