In 1939, 'Johnnie' Johnson swapped his desk in the Borough Surveyor's office for the cockpit of a Spitfire, WW2 providing him a unique opportunity to achieve his maximum potential. By 1945 Johnnie was officially the RAF's top scoring fighter pilot of the war. Black boards, gilt title to spine. B/w photos.
