Nearly fine condition. Spenser's Faerie Queene in three volumes. Edited by Thomas J. Wise. This facsimile was reproduced from a copy of the first edition by Dot Reproductions Ltd, printed by Memminger Mediencentrum A.G. on Corolla Classic watermarked laid paper and bound by Lachenmaier in full Nigerian goatskin leather blocked with a design based on Walter Crane's original. Limited edition of 1,000 numbered copies. B/w full-page and text illustrations. Top edges gilt. A very heavy set.
This is copy 256 of 1,000. Contained in publisher's wooden slip-case covered in burgundy silk moire with a drawer (cloth starting to pull upwards - minor!) to pull the heavy books forward, a little dusty. A beautiful set with minor rubbing of burgundy ink to base of text block of two volumes (comes from the burgundy sliding drawer).
