Very good condition in a almost very good dustwrapper. Blue covers, gilt title to spine. B/w frontis illus. 231 pages.

Light bumping to spine, with a little browning. Foxing to outer page edges. Wrapper is worn in places, with a couple of small patches of surface paper to rear cover, with ink tick marks to other books in the series. A few chips and nicks along cover edge; couple of closed tears. Still nice and bright!

  • Ruey Richardson and her brothers Roger and Roddy are wards of Joey and Jack Maynard. She enters the Chalet School which she finds life very different from that in Croydon. She introduces lacrosse to the Chalet School but finds a ready-made enemy in Francie Wilford.
  • Francie had hoped that she and Margot Maynard would become friends but Margot is not keen. Francie, whose character is warped by her home circumstances lets her jealousy of Ruey poison her school life. The two are at daggers drawn most of the term but eventually a break through is made and they become firm friends.
