Almost very good condition. The earlier of Oxenham's two historical novels, Mistress Nancibel is named as an ancestress in a number of books which have faint connections with the Abbey. Blue cloth with gilt titles and colour illustrations to front and spine. 352 pages plus 16 page booklist to rear. 6 colour plates.
Spine bumped, worn and a little darkened. Bumping and wear to corners especially top corner of front cover. Rubbing to pictures on front and spine. Covers slightly grubby. A couple of hinges cracked but binding is firm. Presentation inscription to verso of front endpaper. Damage to bottom corner of rear endpaper. Some foxing and an odd mark to contents. All plates present.
