  • This is the fourth book of the popular St. Clare's series. In this book we follow especially the fortunes of the two head-girls. of the second form, lazy Anna and spiteful Elsie, and of the two new girls, Mirabel, tiresome and silly, and Gladys, the little Misery-Girl. All the familiar characters from the first form are here too, the O'Sullivan twins, Don't-Care-Bobby (with a mischievous trick for Mam'zelle!), Carlotta the circus-girl, feather headed Alison and serious Hilary, once head girl of the first form.
