Almost very good condition in a good dustwrapper. This is the fourth book in the popular 'St. Clare's' series. Orange cloth with dark blue titles and vignette to front cover. B/w illustrations. 157pages.

Uneven fading to covers; a few spots. Front endpaper is MISSING. Foxing to some pages and outer page edges. Wrapper is price-cut with edge-tears and chips; loss to top and tail of spine, along some edges and to corners. Wrapper is also heavily foxed and browned.

  • This is the fourth book of the popular St. Clare's series. In this book we follow especially the fortunes of the two head-girls. of the second form, lazy Anna and spiteful Elsie, and of the two new girls, Mirabel, tiresome and silly, and Gladys, the little Misery-Girl. All the familiar characters from the first form are here too, the O'Sullivan twins, Don't-Care-Bobby (with a mischievous trick for Mam'zelle!), Carlotta the circus-girl, feather headed Alison and serious Hilary, once head girl of the first form.
