Very good condition in a almost very good dustwrapper. Based principally on the Genera Plantarum of G. Bentham and J.D. Hooker. The first in a series of ten volumes, providing keys to and descriptions of all known genera of flowering plants, together with their geographical distribution, type or lectotype species, economic uses, and references to monographs, revisions, and more recent regional Floras. (Not illustrated). Grey cloth boards, gilt title to spine.
Reprint. Boards slightly mottled. Base of text block has small grubby mark, vertical and top edge of text block has minor foxing. Small name in ink to front endpaper. Contents clean. Price-cut dustwrapper has a large gift inscribed label to inside front flap, is stained and has a small patch of surface paper loss, and tiny hole to edge of spine.
