Fine condition. Very large format. Dark blue cloth boards, cream title to spine. A resized edition of Audubon's masterpiece, created by dis-binding one of two original sets held by the Natural History Museum, London. It includes all 435 images, reproduced as large as possible on the page. In general, small images have been reproduced at about 80 percent of the original plate size, and larger images at about 40 percent. Original numbering and captions have been faithfully recreated, leading to some inconsistencies in spellings and numbering of plates.
Contained in slipcase which is bumped along one edge. A glorious book! This copy would make a wonderful gift.
