A full-length biography of the Scottish artist and academician David Roberts, containing much unpublished material including generous extracts from his own very characteristic letters and journals. His art movement was Orientalism. Blue boards, gilt title to spine and vignette to front. B/w and colour plates.

Text block slightly grubby. Pictorial dustwrapper is lightly scuffed.
