TASK FORCE 57: THE BRITISH PACIFIC FLEET 1944-1945

by Peter C. Smith

Published by William Kimber & Co. Limited. 1st. 1969

Slightly better than very good condition in a nearly fine dustwrapper. The largest British fleet to operate as a single unit in World War II, the British Pacific Fleet was the most modern, with a higher proportion of aircraft carriers than ever mustered before. It was given the American code-name Task Force 57 by the Americans it was to fight alongside of. A complete account of this 'forgotten fleet'; over-shadowed in numbers by the vast American taks forces. Blue boards, silver title to spine. B/w photos. Top edge blue.

First hinge pulled (looks like a binding error with too much cloth beneath the hinge). Else a lovely copy, looks unread!
