SILVER SNAFFLES
Illustrated by Stanley Lloyd
Published by Blackie & Son Ltd.. circa. 1955
Very good condition in a almost very good dustwrapper. Blue cloth with gilt title to spine and white title to front cover. B/w plates. A story which will charm every young reader, and at the same time convey to young pony-lovers a wealth of useful wrinkles about riding and the treatment of horses. The young heroine is given the power of understanding equine conversation, so that she learns direct from the horses' mouths! Each pony she rides adds to her knowledge, and in the company of each she finds a special pleasure. The fun that she and the different ponies have together make a delightful Book, quite apart from the equestrian interest.
Spine bumped and small bump to top edge of front cover. Inscription in pen to front endpaper. Light foxing and browning to endpapers. Light foxing to prelims and text block. Dustwrapper is edge worn with a few tears and some small pieces of loss. Hole to spine. Front flap is price-cut and creased. Wrapper slightly grubby and foxed, spine darkened.
