Slightly better than good condition. Selected, edited and translated by R. Nisbet Bain. Black cloth with red titles, gilt decoration to spine and large pictorial onlay to front cover. 4 colour plates, full-page b/w illustrations. 287 pages, top edge gilt.
Spine and corners bumped and worn with fraying of cloth to top and tail of spine. Some light scuffing to pictorial onlay. Heavy foxing and some browning to first few and last few pages (including endpapers). Light horizontal mark to pages 280/1. Grubby fingermarks to title-page and blind stamp 'with compliments for review. Looks like leaf has been pressed between two pages as light grey leaf shape visible on pages 179-185. A desirable copy of a scarce title.
