Very good condition in a almost very good dustwrapper. Candy Floss was a special little doll who brought luck to the little boy who owned her. Blue boards, red titles and vignette to front. Charming colour and b/w illustrations. 63 numbered pages.

Spine bumped. Some foxing to top edge of covers. Faint crease to top corner of last few pages in book. Faint lines to page 18. Light foxing/browning to endpapers and text block. Dustwrapper is edge worn with a foxed and slightly grubby rear panel, foxed on verso.

  • Candy Floss was a special little doll who brought good luck to her owner. That is she had brought luck to Jack who ran a coconut shy at the fair until one day when Clementina Davenport spied her and marked her for her own.
  • Clementina was a poor little rich girl, horribly spoiled - never crossed but ever cross. How she did carry on when Jack absolutely refused to sell Candy Floss to Mr. Davenport. But Jack needed his lucky doll as he said it was because of her that he did more business than any of the other booths around him.
  • Of course Clementina didn't know how important Candy Floss was when she did the terrible thing, but she probably would have done it anyway as she was thinking only of herself. But Candy Floss could melt a heart of stone and Clementina's heart was no stone -even though she behaved as it were.
