The authors first and most collectable novel for children. Dark green mottled boards, gilt title to spine. B/w illus throughout by author. 195 pages. 8.75 x 6.5".
Ex-library, ink stamps to publisher's page, an attempt has been made to scratch both out. Vertical tape residue lines to endpapers and slightly to covers. Spine bumped. Front endpaper slightly wrinkled with small amount of surface paper damage, assume from label removal. A few marks to contents but most pages are clean. Light marks and a few fox spots to text block. Dustwrapper is edge worn with some light creasing. Tape residue lines across top and bottom on verso plus remains of small label. Faint marks to front panel.
