Nearly fine condition in a slightly better than very good dustwrapper. In November 1820 in the middle of the Pacific near the Equator a whale rammed and sank the Nantucket whaleship Essex. The first documented sinking of a ship by a whale, the incident was the beginning of one fo the most harrowing survival feats in maritime history... Grey cloth boards, gilt title on blue title block to spine.
Minor foxing to top edge of text block else a fine copy. Dustwrapper is lightly edge-rubbed.
