Full page colour plates and b/w text illustrations. 129 pages. Spine and corners bumped and rubbed. A few small spots to covers. Name and address in ink to front pastedown.

The last hardcover annual to be published during the war years and widely considered to be the best Rupert annual ever. Front cover shows Rupert holding a paddle and waving while Algy looks on from a little boat. First story Rupert and the Red Egg. 118 pages. Spine missing, edges rubbed & worn. Boards a little dull. Front joint cracked. Rear joint starting to crack. Name in belongs to box. Heavy pencil erased from verso of title page and also belongs to box. Page 77 has loss to lower margin but this does not affect the text. Contents browned and a little grubby. A good reading copy.
