A charming collection of 18 original fairy stories in the classic manner. Illustrated blue cloth covers. Colour frontis plate, b/w chapter headings and tail pieces throughout. 144 pages. 8.25 x 6". Spine a little bumped. Foxing to prelims and text block. Contents very good. Dustwrapper is edge worn with a few small tears and chips. Also a bit grubby, especially spine. 1" tear to top edge of front panel.

With Pictures that Spring Up in Model Form. 5 pop-ups; first one is "Pipes Of Pan". Spine bumped and worn, vertical crease to centre and wear to edges, also lightly browned. Wear to corners and cover edges. A few hinges cracked but binding is firm. Name in ink to top margin of verso of front endpaper. Neat colouring to about 3 b/w illustrations. Some foxing and browning to contents. All pop-ups work well, a couple of small tears to first one.

Dasent's "Popular Tales from the Norse". Light bumping and wear to corners and cover edges. Names in ink to prelim pages. Foxing throughout. All plates present. Wrapper is browned to spine with some scuffing; creasing; a few marks; light chips along a couple of edges.

Laminated pictorial boards. Front cover has head and shoulders of Rupert with sea in the background. First story is Rupert and the Copper Bird. Bumping and wear to spine and corners. Splitting to laminate to top of spine; a bit of foxing. Chipping to base of spine; a little loss. Creasing to front endpaper, with inscription in pencil to belongs to box, same page has a little pencil colour scribble. NOT price-cut. Colouring contest and page next to it have colouring in and some scribble. Butterfly colouring to page 63 has been completed. Hinge between pages 78 + 79 has been pulled. Rupert's Nature Spotting Hobby has been completed in pencil (p. 20/21).

Some loss of paper cover from rear board, approx. 2 x 0.5", creasing alongside. Scratches to onlay. Covers a bit grubby. Ink inscription to front pastedown. Diagram of door drawn in pencil to verso of frontis. Foxing throughout plus an odd mark.

Being the adventures of the Bastable children in search of a fortune. Blue/green cloth with gilt titles and vignettes. B/w frontis and 16 other plates. 296 pages and catalogue to rear. All edges gilt. Spine and corners bumped and worn. Small line indentation to top of front cover. Looks like an unsuccessful attempt has been made to clean the covers which are now part shiny/part matt and unevenly coloured and marked. Inscription in ink to front endpaper. Joints are cracked. Frontis and one other plate MISSING, a few have small ink spots to them. Some grubby margin marks. A reading copy.
