Brown pictorial endpapers. B/w frontis. 288 pages. Spine and corners bumped. Spine and board edges browned. Endpapers browned. Inscription in ink to front flyleaf. Foxing to prelims and page edges. Slight crease to a couple of pages (binding error). Dustwrapper is edge worn and torn with loss to top and bottom of spine. Wrapper is browned and grubby.

Some darkening to spine and cover edges. Presentation plate to front endpaper. One hinge cracked. Contents very good. Dustwrapper is edge worn with a couple of chips and tears to base of spine and base of rear fold. Darkening to bottom edge.

18-year-old Margery Paine goes to Rainbows, a model village built by a young heiress, to open its first sweet shop. Blue cloth, black title to spine. B/w frontis. 258 pages. Spine and corners bumped, slight browning to lower edges of covers. Prize plate to front free-endpaper has been mostly removed. Foxing to contents which are otherwise clean. Price-cut wrapper is edge chipped with slight loss to spine and corners and is slightly grubby to rear panel.

A few small marks to front cover. There is evidence of glue along the front joint so there's possibly been a repair. One hinge cracked at top. Name and address in ink to dedication page. Endpapers browned, faint erased writing to pastedown. Browning, some foxing and a few marks to contents. All plates present.
