Limited to 1,000 numbered copies, a facsimile of the definitive 1927 J M Dent edition. Bound in full Nigerian goatskin, gold blocked with the design of the 1927 edition. Printed on specially made paper with hand-made end papers and gilding on three edges. 624 pages, 11.75 inches x 9 inches. Includes a separate booklet with an essay by Professor Anthony S G Edwards. This is copy no. 784. Slipcase just has a few very faint, light marks, otherwise as new. Also includes the original Folio advertises pamphlet for the volume.

Dustwrapper is edge worn, torn and creased with a couple of small chips. Spine browned. Surface paper damage to rear panel. Corner cut from front flap, price above.

Pictorial endpapers. 24 full page illustrations in colour, 16 of which are tipped-in to cream paper and have captioned tissue guards. 20 b/w drawings.206 pages. Top edge blue. Bumping and wear to spine and corners. Spine faded, uneven fading to rear cover, uneven darkening to front cover. 1 plate is missing and 6 are detached, some of which are the tipped in colour plates and the complete page and tissue guard are detached, page edges on some ragged. Rear joint and a couple of hinges cracked. Some browning and foxing to contents but generally clean.

Light brown stain to bottom inside corner of last few pages and pastedown. Endpapers grubby. Contents generally clean.

Green illustration to endpapers. Bumping and wear to spine, corners and cover edges. Foxing throughout, although heaviest to prelims, last pages and outer page edges. All plates present. Wrapper is unevenly browned with some foxing and scuffing; creased with some closed tears and chips; a little loss to corners.

Contained in a slipcase (custom made?) which is slightly worn.
