Limited Edition Cased Set, special numbered edition of 100 sets to commemorate the centenary of the first publication in 1913. Small format book with cream cloth and silver titles. 80 numbered pages, all edges gilt. With explanatory leaflet giving a brief biography of Beatrix Potter and the history of the publication of The Tale of Pigling Bland. Contained in a brown hinged box with silver title and onlay to front. Also includes a brown leather foil-blocked bookmark. ISBN: 9780723268918. It is unlikely the book has ever been opened (still a very tight binding). The presentation box is further protected by a white card slip band. This is copy no. 59. Contained in original brown packaging box (with limitation details label to front) and 'cotton' (referring to binding) written in blue biro to front. This copy would make a wonderful gift.

Green boards, burgundy titles and pictorial onlay to front. Colour plates and b/w illustrations. 93 pages. A little bumping and wear to spine and corners. Spine browned/faded. Covers slightly grubby with small mark to bottom edge of front cover. Prelims have been re-inserted incorrectly, order now is frontis, front endpaper, half-title, title page. Yellowed tape residue down full length of front joint. A couple of hinges starting to crack but binding is firm. Label with ink inscription to verso of frontis. Some light fingering and foxing to contents but generally they are clean.

Page 55 has craypn marks to margin, crayon also to text block. Rest of contents very good. Dustwrapper is edge worn, torn and chipped but with very little loss. Rear panel grubby, crayon line to rear flap.

A few grubby marks to covers. Light wear along cover edges. Foxing to some pages. Wrapper has a few closed tears, with chips; minimal loss (mostly chips of loss to corners); grubby with some foxing and creasing.
