Oblong format. Pictorial boards and spine. 6 animal pop-ups. Animals in Fact, Fancy and Fun. Spine very worn to edges with some loss of surface paper. Also wear to corners and cover edges. Covers slightly grubby. Rear joint is badly cracked, webbing showing, front joint just starting to crack, a few hinges cracked. Name in pen to title page. Just an odd mark to contents. All pop-ups work well but last one has been neatly repaired with clear tape.

A pop-up book with introduction by Weatherly. 5 pop-up scenes plus numerous b/w illustrations. Green cloth spine, pictorial front board shows children dancing around a Christmas tree. Decorative endpapers. Nister no. 853. Spine bumped and worn. Corners bumped and very worn. Board edges are scuffed. Boards are scratched and a bit grubby. Front joint cracked. Endpapers and page edges browned. Staples rusty. One page, which has ragged edges, is detached. 4" tear to last page of text plus other smaller tears to page edges and margins. Light colouring to several illustrations. Some fingering to contents. Horse's tail slightly creased in second pop-up, and couple of small patches of surface paper damage in deer pop-up. Other pop-ups nice and bright.

Green cloth spine. Pictorial front board showing girl dressed in clown suit. "A Novel Picture book For Children". Four pop-up colour pictures. B/w text illustrations. Spine bumped, rubbed and a little grubby. Corners bumped and worn. Board edges a little rubbed. A few small scratches to covers. Joints beginning to crack. Couple of hinges cracked. Inscription in ink to verso of front endpaper. Small booksellers label to rear pastedown. Edge of front endpaper a little ragged. Foxing and a few light marks mostly to page edges. Pop-ups are in excellent working order.

PEEPSHOW OF THAMES TUNNEL

Cream card wraps with hole to front cover to peep through, decorative paper onlay to rear cover. 6 hand-coloured scenes bound accordion style. Covers are edge worn and a little grubby. Three of the paper folds have been replaced, the first two very neatly and have been coloured to match what was previously there (when the book is closed you can see the colour), the other fold replaced did not need colour. Other folds have small tears or old tape repairs. The scenes are all in excellent condition, without major faults.

1200 feet long, 76 feet below high water mark, was 8 years building and cost £446,000, opened the 25th day of March 1843. Bound accordion style, 4 hand--coloured scenes (includes front cover which has 2 holes cut out - peepholes). Contained in a slipcase with onlay to front (same as front cover of book). Rear cover is creased and colour (black) has been touched up to rear cover and edges of front cover. I think that the slipcase has been repaired/reinforced.
