Almost very good condition in a almost very good dustwrapper.
The infamous expedition to cross Australia from South to North inland. Large format. Green boards, gilt title to spine. B/w and a few colour illustrations. ISBN: 0600041379. Spine slightly cocked. Fading to horizontal edges of boards. Text block browned. A few foxspots to contents. Pictorial dustwrapper is faded, has the remains of a label to top front corner and a small closed tear (no loss).

Grey/green title to front cover. 75 tissue-guarded colour plates. 1" split to top of spine, which is very browned with wear. Rest of covers are unevenly faded with wear; bumping to corners. Foxing. Some guards are browned. Light browning to plate margins.

Part of the A & C Black 20 Shilling Series. 1-2" split to top of spine; some fraying to cloth; other horizontal tear across top of spine - partially repaired with glue. Browning to spine. Bumping to corners. Some scuffing. Front joint is pulled. Newspaper cutting has been stuck to the rear pastedown. Some browning and foxing.

Spine is browned with a few chips and splits to top; some fraying to cloth. Corners are bumped. A bit of scuffing to rear cover. Inscription in pencil to front endpaper. Joints are starting to crack a little. Some foxing and browning.
