Edited by Peter Speak. A remarkable account of early Polar exploration written by one of the foremost polar explorers of the Heroic Age. Large format. Brown cloth boards, gilt title to spine. B/w photos. ISBN: 0748602933. This copy belonged to Ian M. Terris, himself a merchant adventurer having travelled to both Poles. Prelims of book and rear endpapers have many relevant (to Ian Terris) magazine and newspaper cuttings glued in. Also some loose inside book. Contents themselves otherwise clean. Blue dustwrapper is lightly edge-worn.

Blue cloth boards, silver title to spine. B/w photos and illustrations. Light rubbing to spine & corners. Text block browned. Contents clean. Pictorial dustwrapper is edge-worn with a few closed tears and chips, repaired to verso with clear tape, rear panel scuffed and browned.
