New Naturalist series. Green cloth, gilt title to spine. 19 colour photos and 181 b/w photos and 134 line drawings. ISBN: 0002131781. Ex-Lib. Old tape marks to covers. Spine and corners slightly bumped. Tape marks to endpapers. Removal of labels from endpapers. Ink stamp of library name to lower edge of textblock. Some pages creased. Foxing to textblock. There are tape marks on the verso of the wrapper which is otherwise clean and bright.

Pale foxing to top edge of text block else a lovely copy of the POD version of this book. Pictorial dustwrapper is in two halves, taped at spine fold by the printer on verso, light tape mark showing through on spine edge of rear panel.

Previous owner's personalised bookplate to front endpaper. Date of 'May 1951' written in ink to front endpaper. Browning and tape marks to endpapers else contents clean. Pictorial dustwrapper is browned to spine with small circular loss to middle, rear panel browned and a little grubby, top & tail of spine lightly creased.

Name plate and small address label to front free-endpaper. Light browning to endpapers. Edge of fold-out map has been slightly misfolded and now has a slightly ragged margin. Dustwrapper is edge worn and torn with slight loss, spine of wrapper is a bit grubby and front flap is creased.
