Wrapper is edge-torn and chipped, with a little loss; creased and grubby.

White endpapers. 30 magnificent colour plates, mounted on vellum-like paper with black descriptive letterpress beneath and all framed with elaborate border design in black. Some bumping and wear to spine and corners. A few marks to covers. Rear joint cracked. Small inscription in ink to front endpaper. Some foxing. Plate and tissue-guard to opposite page 24 are partially detached; hinge pulled. All plates present.

Spine very lightly browned and rear cover just a tiny bit scuffed. Light damage to front endpapers from removal of bookplate and small pencil erasure mark. Front joint cracked. Light foxing to endpapers, tissue-guards and outer page edges. Some hinges pulled. A nice copy.
