Blue cloth covers with gilt title to spine. 12 tipped-in colour plates. Numerous b/w text illustrations. 320 pages. Bumping to spine and corners. Some scuffing to spine and boards. Couple of tiny holes to front board.Endpapers browned. Some hinges beginning to crack. Foxing throughout, though some pages are clean. Plates all present and in very good condition.

Covers grubby with some faint writing to front cover. Both joints cracked. Small ink name and date to endpaper. Writing or drawing erased from verso of frontis paper guard. Just a few grubby marks/fingermarks to prelims and contents. A couple of small margin tears. Endpapers browned. All plates present, three have edge or corner creases. Foxing to page edges.
