Yellow endpapers. 239 pages, all edges gilt. 6 b/w engraved plates (each with two illustrations). Spine and corners bumped, a few small dents to cover edges. Covers grubby. Endpapers grubby. Heavy foxing and fingering to contents.

Printed at the Minerva Press. Plain brown boards. 240 pages, edges untrimmed. Pull-out b/w frontis of The Empress of Russia's Travelling Equipage. Covers are worn with some chipping of surface paper. Joints cracked but binding still tight. Name in ink to top margin of title-page. Preliminary pages are grubby, there is some foxing to the contents. Considering the age of the book the contents are reasonably clean. This is a decent copy of a very scarce item.
