A most informative guide to locating nests, facilitating capture and guidance on maintenance. This book confirms that bumblebees are social insects whose communities are at a more primitive state of cohesion and organisation than those of honeybees. The book also demonstrates that bumblebees may be easily kept under study conditions. Name & date in ink to front pastedown and is hidden by front flap of dustwrapper. Browning and foxing to endpapers. Text block browned, especially top edge. A few foxspots and minor grubby marks to prelims.
