Covers foxed and slightly marked. Prize plate to front free-endpaper has been mostly removed. Heavy foxing throughout. Some hinges cracked but binding still tight.

Page between contents page and chapter 1 has been removed.

A couple of pages are part detached with slightly ragged edges. One page has lower margin torn off. Foxing and fingermarks to contents.

Larger format. Blue cloth with gilt titles to spines; gilt borders and decorations around motif to front cover. 3rd Volume Contains the Maps. Inscriptions in ink to front endpapers. Foxing to outer page edges and margins. Wrapper to volume I is MISSING it's rear flap and panel. All other wrappers also have edge-chipping and creasing; Maps volume has 1" loss to top of spine.
