Nearly fine condition in a very good dustwrapper. Henry Thomas De La Beche is best known as one of the leading geologists of his time and particularly as founder of the Geological Survey of Great Britain together with the Museum of Practical Geology. He was also known for using the medium of sketch and caricature to comment on the ideas of his colleagues. the social context of science, or whatever caught his eye as an 'observer'. Light tan cloth boards, gilt title to spine. B/w illustrations throughout.
Spine lightly bumped at top and tail. Contents clean. Brown pictorial dustwrapper is faded to spine, rubbed at top & tail of spine, and scuffed.
