- Molly and Meg are living with Molly's father in Switzerland, where with a collaborator he is engaged in scientific research, while the girls attend a local school. But something happens; a card containing a valuable formula disappears from the laboratory one day when the girls have been there, and its disappearance leads to a serious disagreement between the scientists, and a general upset. So when Molly's grand-aunt asks the girls to England the invitation is welcomed, and they presently find themselves at the start of a really exciting term at Rillington College.
