OFF NORTHAMPTON SHED: THE REMINISCENCES OF AN LMS FIREMAN
by Derek Mutton
Published by Wild Swan Publications. 1st. 2006
Slightly better than very good condition in a slightly better than very good dustwrapper. The author was a cleaner at Northampton shed in September 1943 at the age of 15, where he remained throughout his foot-plate career. Wonderfully observed, often humorous and extremely well written, this captivating account evokes much of the atmosphere of the run-down railway in post-war Britain. Large format. Black cloth boards, gilt title to spine. B/w photos and trackplans. 185 pages.
Text block and page edges lightly browned. White pictorial dustwrapper is lightly browned and lightly edge-creased.
