Pictorial boards show children stroking horse to front cover, both riding horse to spine, yellow titles. 8 colour plates plus b/w illustrations. First story is Joan Visits a Farm. 128 pages. 8.5 x 7". A chunky volume of stories and rhymes. Covers darkened and grubby. Bumping and wear to spine and corners. Front edge of spine cracked. Large ink inscription to verso of frontis. A few hinges cracked so binding feels weak. Some light foxing and an odd mark to contents. One plate is MISSING and one partially detached.
