Very good condition in a very good dustwrapper. The Allied offensive in Italy in the autumn of 1944 plunged the British Fifth Army into some of the fiercest fighting of the war. Against them were rnged two great German armies, which were to put up a struggle unsurpassed in German military history. The scene of the fighting was the Gothic Line, a chain of defences which stretched across Italy, through the tall mountains of the Northern Apennines, from the Mediterranean to the Adriatic. Red cloth boards, gilt title to spine. A few b/w photos and battle plans. xii and 257 pages including index.
Some light mottling/staining to boards. A few minor foxspots to text block. Contents clean. Dustwrapper is lightly browned and scuffed, foxed to verso.
