- Mike and Mary Bishop and their friend Vicky White are spending a holiday travelling the Grand Union Canal on one of the narrow boats. Vicky's parents work The Flower of Brentford and The Flower of Southall - the smartest boats on the 'Cut' - and it is not long before the three children find themselves involved in an adventure with a travelling circus. But BIMBO'S RENOWNED CIRCUS is in trouble and Mike, Mary and Vicky are given the chance to help young Johnnie whose father, the world-famous clown has been taken ill.
