Contents

  • Dudley, the grey parrot, and Gilderoy, the red-haired cat, were great friends. Dudley was a kindly creature; Gilderoy lived by his wits and by doing battle with rivals. One day they set off on a journey which involved trains, taxies, and roof-tops. Dudley rode part of the way in an old lady's hat, and for a time they joined her household, but their owners finally caught up with the runaways. Both children and their elders will enjoy the journey of the two oddly assorted friends.
