A couple of foxspots to textblock. Dustwrapper is edge chipped with slight loss to spine and corners, light vertical crease to front panel and rear panel is just slightly grubby.l

- Biggles is visited by 'Jumbo' Grimes, whose son used to serve in his old squadron in the Western Desert. 'Jumbo' gives information which leads Biggles to conclude that Jumbo empoyers have discovered the Starry Crown, a ship which contains a horde of gold.
- Leaving Algy and Bertie on the Falkland Islands as their South Atlantic base, Biggles, Ginger and Grimes Senior and Junior make a risky landing in the Antarctic, and so the adventure begins.
