Contents
- A story of the 1914-18 war when Biggles was still a Captain in the Royal Flying Corps. Nigel Fortymore, a young pilot fresh from school, is shot down over enemy lines, but his brother, Peter, is convinced that he is still alive. Perter joins the Royal Flying Corps in a somewhat unorthodox manner and, assisted by a school friend, Rip, is instrumental in rescuing his brother from Germany.
- As a result, a 'Rescue Flight' is organised to provide a regular means of escape for shot-down officers, and has many successful adventures before being finally disbanded.
