Red cloth spine. Pictorial front board shows Queen of Hearts baking, rear board shows two ladies, one with spinning wheel by Brisley. Illustrated endpapers. 4 colour plates plus 150 b/w illustrations all by Lambert. Spine bumped with wear and a little wrinkled. Wear to corners and cover edges with some loss of surface. Bump to outside edge of front cover. Some rippling and light pink marks to endpapers. One hinge cracked. 2" tear to title page alongside spine. Most pages are clean. All colour plates present but one has not been printed straight on the page, marks to verso of another.

Cloth spine. Pictorial front cover shows girl washing toys. Colour plates and b/w illustrations. Bumping and wear to spine and corners. Front cover slightly grubby, rear cover has a few marks and a tiny indentation. Front joint cracked between frontis and title page. First gathering pulled so feels loose. Ink inscription to front endpaper. Painting to some b/w illustrations with transfer of colour to page opposite. Also some painting to verso of a couple of plates and to blank pages at rear and endpapers.

A Tuck Book. Oblong format. Pictorial stiff card covers. Beautiful colour illustrations to each page with rhyme below. A little wear to spine and corners, nick to lower edge of front cover and lower front corner creased (also affects all pages), small mark to front cover near top of spine. Staples starting to rust. Erased pencil writing to top corner of front pastedown. Contents clean and bright.

Rear cover repaired at top margin. Small closed tear to rear cover which is grubby. Pages are browned with a little foxing and a few grubby marks.
