Front cover shows man dressed in white on a horse, riding through what looks like a tea plantation. First story is 'Martingale's Move' by Westerman. Colour and b/w plates. Spine and edges are worn. Covers grubby. Small chip to rear cover onlay. Inscription in ink to front endpaper. 1 plate has 1" closed tear. All plates present. Front joint cracked.

Light blue cloth, dark blue title to spine and blind vignettes. Colour frontis plus 4 b/w illustrations. A Story of Road and Moor. Book: book plate to front endpaper. A few light foxspots to endpapers. A fine bright copy in pictorial wrapper which is edge-chipped with large closed tear to front.

Inscription in ink to front pastedown. Half-title page is browned and foxed, foxspots to outer page edges. Top edge of text-block is dusty. A nice copy.

H.M. Brock
Henry Matthew Brock (11 July 1875 – 21 July 1960) was a British illustrator and landscape painter of the late nineteenth and early twentieth century. He was one of four artist brothers, all of them illustrators, who worked together in their family studio in Cambridge.
