Beige pictorial cloth, colour onlay to front cover. Blue cloth spine. 58 pages. Colour illustrations throughout. Spine and corners bumped and rubbed. Damp mark to rear cover. Joints beginning to crack. Pages at beginning and end of book very browned. Front endpaper slightly detached and ragged at bottom edge. Publisher's file copy with "property room not to be taken away" ink date stamp to front endpaper of book. Small ticks beside each illustration and bottom corner of page 34 folded up.

Slightly better than good condition in a almost very good dustwrapper.
Cream pictorial cloth, colour onlay to front cover. 64 pages. Colour illustrations throughout. All edges green. Minimal bumping to spine and corners. A few brown spots to bottom edges of covers. Browning to endpapers. Small bookseller's label to rear pastedown. Pages 52 and 53 are stuck together along full length of outside edge for a depth of about 1". Rest of contents clean. Dustwrapper is edge worn with a little loss to top of spine and folds. Browned, mainly to spine and folds, also slightly grubby.

Cream cloth covers, colour vignettes to front and rear, black titles to spine. Full-page colour frontis illustration, colour text illustrations throughout. 58 pages. 8.5 x 6.5". Engraved and printed by Edmund Evans. Covers are heavily worn with some bumping, fading and marks. Front joint is cracked; half-title page is nearly detached. Contents are generally very good, but pages do have some grubby margin marks.

Cream cloth covers, colour vignettes to front and rear, black titles to spine. Full-page colour frontis illustration, colour text illustrations throughout. 58 pages. 8.5 x 6.5". Engraved and printed by Edmund Evans. Spine very slightly bumped at head and tail, covers lightly browned with a few faint marks. Removal of small (name?) plate to half title page which has caused some light browning to page and verso of front endpaper opposite. Lower 3" of front joint cracked. Light foxing to contents and small circular mark to margin of a few pages. Small erased pencil mark to margin of one page. A nice copy of the first edition.

Fine condition in a nearly fine dustwrapper.
Originally published c1885, this is a facsimile edition. The Queen of the title is Polly, nine years old, inclined to plumpness and good humour and had never been to sea, but a very imaginative character... Beautifully illustrated with delicately coloured paintings. Dark green cloth. 60 pages. 10.5 x 8.5". ISBN: 0864410182. Spine bumped. Rear cover lightly marked. Outer page margins very lightly yellowed else contents fine. Dustwrapper very slightly grubby. A nice copy.
