The object of this volume is to supply the need for such information by giving in a comparatively simple practical form a resume of the factors affecting balance, together with a description of the better-known apparatus now available for detecting unbalance, as well as the methods and calculations invovled in the actual correction of bodies which are shown by the equipment to require it".
