Very good condition in a very good dustwrapper.

An authoritative and entertaining book tracing the story of the English Whippet from a point several centuries before its recognition by the Kennel Club in 1890, through the founding of the Whippet Club, the other breed clubs and the Whippet Coursing Club, and up to the present day. Coursing with whippets is covered in detail and there are separate chapters on the hunting whippet and the racing whippet. Also chapters on breeding and rearing. Brown cloth boards, gilt title to spine. B/w photos. ISBN: 0851152716. SIGNED by Mary Lowe to title page (no dedication) and includes a signed letter from Mary Lowe. Top & tail of spine lightly shelf worn, corners bumped. Browning to endpapers. Contents clean. Price-cut pictorial dustwrapper has creased laminate to front edge of spine, and is a little scuffed.
