Red cloth, black title to spine. B/w text illustrations. 219 pages. White and brown marks (possible small cup ring marks) to front cover. Foxing to endpapers and outer page edges. Some wrinkling to tops of pages. Wrapper is torn and chipped, with a little loss; some browning to spine.

Blue cloth with black titles and two-tone blue diagonally striped front cover. Colour frontis. 256 pages. A Romance of the Abbey Girls. Light bumping to spine. Small inscription in ink to front pastedown. Foxing to endpapers, outer page edges and a few page margins. Just under 1" tear to bottom margin of frontis, next to spine. A few margin marks. Wrapper is price-cut with tears and chips; some tape repairs to verso; a little loss; some creasing.

Bumping and wear to corners; marks to covers. Front joint is cracked. Inscription in ink to front endpaper. Foxing, especially to prelims, but also to other pages throughout book. Grubby marks to outer page edges.
